I never realized that my grandfather lived in 11 different homes over a period of 27 years ... Thank you, it was fascinating to see these. My husband and I are planning a trip to Boston next fall. Now that we have the maps and directions, we're planning on taking a day to drive around and see ALL of them ! We have a GPS locator in our car, and will be able to use this to find the locations of not only the cemeteries, but pinpoint where each ancestors' headstone lies. For years, I had little interest in my past. Then, after my husband passed, my children encouraged me to document our family history. I quickly realized how little I actually knew, and that I was the only one left to ask. My frustration was growing daily.
Enter Leo. Thanks to a delightful Christmas gift from my children, I have been able to make use of your services.
I never knew my father had been born in Ireland, he never spoke of it. I was the youngest of his six children, and I was born when he turned 49. He passed away at age 53. My mother and he had married later in life, both in their later 30s.
Once you told me that Pa had come from Ireland at the age of 33, my excitement grew. Within months, you filled in the gaps for me. First finding how and when he arrived in Boston, then locating missing cousins from the siblings he had traveled to this country with. We had a grand family reunion! Next, you told me that you had learned from which part of Ireland we had come, the Townland of Crooderry, Parish of Ardcarne, Co Roscommon.
We have since returned to Roscommon for a visit. Upon finding the Townland of Crooderry, we learned that there are still townsfolk nearby sharing our surname. We stopped by to inquire, and learned much about our familys' history there. They took us to the ancestral ruins of our family home, and we shared a wonderful "homecoming" with our long-lost cousins there.
This has almost been too much to take for an old woman. It has been one of the most emotional experiences of my life, and I have you to thank for this. All my best.

More often than not, I'm hesitant to hire a professional, as I rarely get my moneys' worth. You've begun to change my mind on this.
