    Successful genealogical research can be dependent upon many variables.  Reasonable estimates can be given based upon approximate numbers of hours that may be needed to meet a particular individuals' genealogical objectives, but this can be affected by situations that are not in any persons' control in this day and age.  Damaged or missing records, for one example.  Primarily, effective research depends upon what it is that you are hoping to accomplish, how common a particular name may be  (i.e. "John Smith" ), and availability of indexed records for researching.

    Most who have tried researching their ancestors, have desired to feel a connection with their past. As their family history unfolds, their ancestors lives discovered, a sense of kinship reveals itself.  Our ancestors were from many diverse groups, emigrated from varied countries and continents, and over many time periods, comprising multiple centuries.

    However, most people do not have the required time, funds and expertise to complete a thorough family history.  This effort requires genealogy research skills: organization; evaluation; evidence analysis; research methodologies; logical determinations of familial relationships.
